Frequently asked questions

Check here for frequently asked questions that our students often have about OISE and their schools.

General

OISE students come from all over the world (French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Bulgarian, Argentinian, etc.) and contribute to the cosmopolitan atmosphere of our schools. However, because we work with small groups, we try to keep the number of students of the same nationality in the same classroom to a minimum.

Courses

A one-week course allows you to increase your language skills, as each week’s work is intensively designed to optimise your progress.

Yes, there is the possibility to take individual online classes with the OISE teaching staff. You can ask about your course options in the following contact form

Accommodation

The selection of host families is rigorous. They must meet strict requirements in terms of comfort, hygiene, hospitality and availability. After a reconnaissance visit, the relevant department determines whether the family meets the expectations of OISE’s clients. To reinforce this careful inspection, OISE carefully examines the comments of students who have stayed with that family in the past.

They may be couples with or without children, single people with or without children or retired people. They usually belong to the middle class and may be of different religions and social classes.

health

  • In Europe: the European Health Insurance Card, which must be applied for from the social security system, must be presented to the hospital or doctor. There is no additional cost. The card is free of charge and the delivery time is 2 to 4 weeks. Private health insurance is recommended.
  • Outside Europe: if the illness is not serious, consult a doctor. In case of hospitalisation, OISE will contact the repatriation insurance to request care.

If you are undergoing medical treatment, it is necessary to inform your consultant before departure so that the information can be passed on to the OISE team on the spot. For air travel, a medical prescription is required for the transport of medicines.
